I'm a Texas girl, a proud American who was raised around the world. This created in me a passion for diversity and a love for culture and big ideas. I'm a curious and enthusiastic student of life, I'm thirsty for knowledge, and I'm entertained by reading, words, music, research, art, learning, and more.
Celebrating my 26th year in education and my 12th year at Eanes ISD, I still love coming to work every day. I love what I do, and when people ask me what I want to do in life, I just admit: I'm doing it. As a teacher, my goal is to ignite a passion for learning within my students every day and to help each student to develop his/her own unique writing voice. I hope the legacy I leave is that I loved people, that I honored God, and that my influence inspired people to make a positive difference in the lives of others. That, to me, would be the mark of success.
My husband, Mac, and I enjoy music, especially the Contemporary Christian music scene. Both of us are readers, writers, and thinkers, computer geeks, and gadget people. We think big, dream bigger, and life for us is FUN!
Some of our happiest days are spent with our grown-up kids and our beautiful grandchildren. We enjoy gatherings with family and friends, movies, music, writing and more.
As an American, I absolutely do believe our best days are still ahead of us. I know that my purpose is to prepare my students to be independent thinkers, critical readers, excellent communicators, and positive leaders in this blessed nation we call home.
